Dal Toor Recipe

Dal Toor (lentil soup)

Dal soup Ingredients:
  • 1 cup toor dal
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • ½ tsp red chili powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp oil (ghee)
  • 1 tsp cilantro leaves


Dal soup Method:
  1. wash the toor dal
  2. boil dal with 3 cups of water, turmeric powder, and salt in a pressure cooker for 10 minutes
  3. or you could also boil in a slow cooker by adding more than 3 cups of water
  4. heat the oil in a pan, and add mustard seeds let them splutter
  5. add red chili powder, garam masala and mix well in the dal
  6. garnish with cilantro leaves
