- ½ C butter softened
- 1 C sugar
- 1½ Tsp vanilla essence/extract
- 1/3 C vanilla chips/morsels
- 1½ C all purpose flour
- 1½ Tsp baking powder
- ¼ Tsp baking soda
- ½ C milk powder
- ¾ C milk
Method:-
- Melt the vanilla chips over low heat. Cool completely.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the but ter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and the melted chips.
- In another mixing bowl, sieve the flour, baking powder and baking soda. Add ½ C of this flour to the creamed mixture. Beat well. Add the milk powder, the remaining flour and milk. Beat until smooth. Transfer to a greased 9 x 9-inch square baking pan.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350 F/180 C for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center of the cake comes out clean. (If the top layer of the cake begins to darken soon without being cooked form inside, cover the top with aluminum foil and bake until done)
