Chicken and Dumplings Recipe

Chicken and Dumplings
Chicken and Dumplings
You must not be a chef before you can prepare chicken and dumplings. It is something that you can prepare when you are even busy. This is because the recipe is easy to grab and give you that great meal that you need.


Ingredients


  • Dumplings
  • Ice water
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • House Seasoning:
  • 1/4 cup black pepper
  • 1 cup salt
  • 1/4 cup garlic powder

Chicken:
  • 1 chicken, that is cut into 8 pieces
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 chicken bouillon cubes
  • 3 ribs celery, chopped
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon House Seasoning, recipe follows
  • 1 can condensed cream of celery or cream of chicken soup

Directions : Place the celery, onion,  bouillon, chicken, bay leaves, and House Seasoning inside a pot. You should add 4 quarts of water and in water and bring to a simmer over medium heat.

You should simmer the chicken until it has become tender and there are no juice for about 40 minutes. Take the chicken from the pot and allow to cool. Remove the chicken skin and separate it from the bones.

To prepare the dumplings: You should mix the salt with flour and mould them together in a bown. Drizzle the ice water over the flour from the center, then to the side. Add about 3/4 cup of ice water gradually.  You should knead the dough and  allow it to form it into ball.

You should dust the floor on a clean surface and roll the dough out, allow it to relax for some minutes.

You should add the cream of the celery soup to the pot with the chicken and simmer gently over medium-low heat.

Cut the dough into 1-inch pieces.
