Dal Toor (lentil soup)
Dal soup Ingredients:
- 1 cup toor dal
- 3 cups water
- 1 tsp turmeric
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- ½ tsp red chili powder
- ½ tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp oil (ghee)
- 1 tsp cilantro leaves
Dal soup Method:
- wash the toor dal
- boil dal with 3 cups of water, turmeric powder, and salt in a pressure cooker for 10 minutes
- or you could also boil in a slow cooker by adding more than 3 cups of water
- heat the oil in a pan, and add mustard seeds let them splutter
- add red chili powder, garam masala and mix well in the dal
- garnish with cilantro leaves
